Après ce qui a été dit au sujet des 12", je ne sais que penser de ce label.

Sorry for posting in English, but my French isn't good enough, I would just like to state that if anyone is bootlegging "Africa (Is Our Land)" it isn't Bristol Archive Records. We work closely with all our artists, including Joshua Moses, the composer of the track, (please check the More Cut issue), Joshua was asked about the Kingston Connexion issue by Dennis and refused his permission, as far as we are concerned that was the end of that.

If we were bootleggers it would be very strange that we are releasing an LP from Joshua/Jashwha with mostly unreleased tracks recorded between 1978 and 2003, we will also release a second album from Joshua/Jashwha of newly recorded material in late 2012. Bristol is a small city, if we didn't have the permission of the artists/labels and their full support we would not last very long. Some of our artists are on Facebook etc., please feel free to ask them if we have treated them with respect and paid them promptly, we have nothing to hide.

Next year will see us attempting to do a similar job with music from other British cities, our first release being London's Tribesman with their "Tribe" 12" followed by Birmingham's Eclipse with a reissue of their "Eclisped" LP, we are working on several similar projects.

Don't understand that, can you bring some details?

Well we don't know what happens between Dennis and Joshua, but I believe they had a discussion about the Kingston Connexion issue and Joshua believed it wasn't going ahead because ours was.

As a label we only knew about the Kingston Connexion issue last week and rather than going on Reggae fora and accusing them of bootlegging we decided to check whether they had licensed the track from Dennis.

There are two reissues coming out, I believe they are both legitimate, so buyers can decide which they prefer or buy both, they are both limited pressings and in a few months both will be sold out anyway.

I spend my days putting together Reggae reissues, all of which are legal and properly licensed with the artists/composers/rights holders getting paid their fair share, anyone that checks our website can see interviews with the artists, personal photos provided by the artists or hear unreleased masters on our releases, I'm not sure what other proof you need that we are 100% above board. It is a shame that some people like to make false accusations, perhaps they are worried about competition, I've hopefully put the record straight.

C'est fini.

Glad to know that these two release are legal! It's the eternal debate between producer and artist ... but if both are paid, and if their music finally gets the popularity it deserves ... we can only rejoice!

As you said, the buyers make their choice!

Anyway, thank you for giving us this informations, big up Bristol Archive, big up Kingston Connexion

Thanks for clearing that up on here Martin.
I appreciate that you detailed your side of the story and trust me we also appreciate the quality of your reissues and the involvement that it requires.

Seems that the debate is now between Joshua Moses and Dennis Bowell...
