This week’s show is livicated to the mighty Augustus Pablo inna digital style.
Sometimes criticized to sound rather cold, digital riddims are not always good sounding as pure version/dub sides but rather rely on the melodic innovations of deejays riding the instrumentals.
As an hardcore foundation artist well known for his roots output, especially involving King Tubby and his apprentices (most notably Prince Philip Smart), Augustus Pablo adopted the digital revolution from the mid 80’s with a unique approach on melody.
That’s probably a part of the reason why Pablo’s digital output sounds so good.
On top of that, adding pure roots & culture lyrics with deep rastafari message onto music produced by His imperial Majesty and only co-produced by Pablo, we get some of the strongest tunes from the era.

Lourd ! Ça n'a beau pas être ce que j'ai le plus creusé, je me rends compte que j'en connaissais la plus grosse partie... Big tune sur big tune ! Il était encore sacrément inspiré et a créé un style vraiment unique en digi en gardant l'âme du Roots tout en s'adaptant à l'époque.
Comme quoi avec tes airs de pas y toucher un bon digit de temps en temps ça fait pas de mal haha
