All real reggae lovers will be sad to learn that Mrs Aura Msimang, once known as Aura Lewis from Full Experience, have passed after having a stroke, in South Africa.
All reggae collectors should know that Aura was claiming some UK reggae company for some reparation when they issued in 2012 her Aura & Full Experience LP without sending any money, nor as the artist and even as the songwritter as they changed the writter name from Aura to Lee Perry. Another reggae artist not collecting what she deserve.
Rest in peace Aura

Salut, tout est dit dans le titre : en ce début d'année est décédé Daddy Vego, du shop People Sound à Londres, pionnier des sound systems en Angleterre, dès l'époque du ska et du skinhead reggae.

Certains d'entre vous ont dû le rencontrer. Je suis allé à son shop quelques fois mais je ne connais pas assez son histoire pour en rajouter beaucoup plus. Néanmoins j'ai été marqué par le bonhomme dès ma première rencontre.

Another legend has sadly passed away

'Daddy Vego' has been resident in Notting Hll since 1956 He first came to the UK from Jamaica in 1956 and was one of the few surviving members of a group of Jamaicans who were influential in promoting Jamaican music and culture in the UK. From his early days in the UK, Daddy Vego has promoted and supported the development of Jamaican reggae music and continued to make a positive impact through his love of music and its origins. He was the original 'Selector' for the UK's first sound system and played each night for seven years at the 'Roaring Twenties Club' aka Colombo's in London's West End. Daddy Vego was the founder of the 'Original Peoples Sound' Sound System and Proprietor of the now world famous 'Peoples Sound Record Shop in the heart of Notting Hill at 11 All Saints Road, London W11

The 9 night for Daddy Vego will now be at the
Silverspoon, Crystal Club, 1 South Way, London, Wembley HA9 0HB, this Monday 11th January 2015, 6pm-12pm, you can also pay respects at his record shop on the All Saints Road Monday-Saturday
